Another First For Me

I could hardly believe it myself but last week we actually had ice and a little dusting of snow here in San Antonio. The last time anything like this happened in SA it was (I think) 1984. They pre-empted all the NBC programs from 5:30A to noon each day to talk about the roads & weather. I thought it was great because school was closed for two days so I got to stay home with Mommy while she worked. On the second snow day, Daddy could not get to work because the city closed all the highways. 75 miles of I-10 were closed, a major artery through the Southern U.S. & Texas. Then on the following Sunday it was 65 degrees so we forgot all about being icebound for those two days. I'm glad my Mommy & Daddy learned how to drive on ice back east.
Other than the big icestorm, things have been pretty quiet. I'm getting over yet another ear infection and I now have about seven teeth. I graduated to the next classroom in daycare now that I can drink from a sippy and feed myself. Some of the kids in my new class walk too, so we all must wear shoes. Hopefully I will be next to walk. Right now I am working on mastering the "crab-walk".

Merry Christmas & Happy Birthday!

It has been action-packed fun the last couple of weeks. I've only been to daycare one day since December 21 which translates to lots of Mommy-Daddy-baby- bonding time. I really like those two! The first couple days of time off I stayed busy with Mommy making the last minute preparations. I've officially got the waving "hello" thing down. Then finally it was Christmas Day. Grama Jan & Grampa Bob came over for breakfast and presents in the morning. We had Christmas dinner over their house that evening. It was lots of fun. I had two more days of bonding after that. Mommy says December 27th was the day when she realized I was truly her daughter when I inadvertently had my first taste of chocolate and LOVED it! Mommy said she could tell by the look on my face I very much enjoyed that chocolate. On the 28th I made a guest appearance at school. I had a surprise of my own for Mommy & Daddy on my birthday when I transitioned smoothly to the sippy cup. Mommy quickly packed the bottles away before I could have a change of heart. In the evening I had a birthday party with G&G, Uncle Bran & Aunt Erica. There was a decorated cake as well as a cake just for me. I was soft, sweet & squishy! December 31 marked the next milestone as my pacifiers all mysteriously vanished. I've been okay with that so far. I guess I really do not need a binky anymore. Enjoy all the photos and Happy New Year!
